Intervista all’autrice Tsuki Aoi (Italian + English version)

Buongiorno libromani tanosi,
oggi sono qui per presentarvi un’autrice che ho conosciuto quasi per caso vagando nei meandri di Facebook. Il suo nome è Tsuki Aoi, pronti a conoscerla? 
Prima di lasciarvi all’intervista, vi lascio con una dritta: troverete domande e risposte prima in italiano e poi in inglese, così da scegliere la modalità di lettura che preferite, essendo Tsuki non italiana, ma non vi dirò di più…

 

1. Ciao Tsuki, grazie mille per essere qui, credo che sia importante parlare ai miei lettori dei tuoi progetti e dei tuoi libri. Sei pronta? Per prima cosa, dimmi, chi è Tsuki? Come ti definiresti?

 

Ciao Hanna, ti ringrazio tanto per essere la prima persona a intervistarmi in Italia e a volermi ospitare nel tuo sito! Sì, sono pronta. Allora, sono una persona a cui piace scrivere e che ha scelto un nome di penna per farlo. Sono lunatica, romantica, figlia di un tempo di rinascita. Infatti, in Giappone, con il nuovo imperatore Naruhito, è partita la nuova era di rinascita, chiamata 令和 (Reiwa). Il nome significa periodo di bella armonia ed è armonia quello che voglio portare in quello che scrivo.

 

2. Dalla quarta domanda entreremo nel dettaglio dei tuoi libri, ma qui mi piacerebbe parlassi del tuo metodo di scrittura: come sei solita scrivere? Circondata da silenzio assoluto o con la musica come sottofondo?

 

Mi piace scrivere con la musica di sottofondo. Alcune volte mi diverto anche. Alcune volte canto, se quello che sto scrivendo non è troppo difficile.

 

3. E, dimmi, le tue idee migliore da dove nascono? Ti è mai capitato di sognare qualcosa di così strabiliante da doverne per forza scriverci qualcosa?

 

Non ho idee migliori, ho idee. Poi è chi legge che decide quali sono le migliori. Da dove nascono? Non lo so. Alcune volte è la mia Musa a suggerirmele. Altre mi compaiono mentre scrivo. Sì, è successo che dei sogni così poi saltassero fuori, o di dover appuntare qualcosa in piena notte, ma penso che per uno scrittore è qualcosa di normale (ride).

 

4. ‘Killing For Lifetime’ è un tuo romanzo in preorder in Amazon, difatti è già possibile trovarlo nello store online, in attesa del 19 ottobre, data del suo lancio ufficiale. Com’è nata la sua storia?

 

La storia è nata da una questione irrisolta tra me e il Pubblico Ministero, tra i protagonisti del thriller. Poi, mi piaceva l’idea di realizzare un libro semplice, scorrevole, con “casi umani” e qualche battuta. Così, l’ho scritto al primo Nanowrimo.

 

 

 

5. Parlando di audiolibro, invece, sono felice di annunciare che ‘Paul e Valentina’ è ascoltabile nella piattaforma Spotify, oltre che disponibile in altri store come Amazon e Ibs. Creare un audiolibro è stato emozionante? Ti va di parlarci delle voci che si sono prestate per la storia?

 

Creare un audiolibro è stata un’esperienza strana e fantastica, da rifare. Allora, io ho chiesto a dei professionisti di farlo, perché quando pubblichi l’audio, questo deve rispettare alcuni parametri tecnici. Ho usato una piattaforma per trovare la persona giusta e ho trovato Preston Rosales: un baritono e anche una persona straordinaria. Lui e sua moglie si sono offerti di realizzarlo e per me è stato strabiliante. La scena dei miei due protagonisti che vanno al ristorante per conoscersi prende vita. Secondo me, si sono anche divertiti e sono felice che abbiano voluto partecipare al progetto. L’audiolibro è gratis su Spotify e Deezer. Su Amazon, iTunes Music, ecc. ogni store ha messo il suo prezzo. C’è anche l’ebook di questa piccola storia, che ha un prezzo variabile dai 0,49 ai 0,99 euro. Volevo mettere l’ebook gratis, ma non è stato possibile.

 

 

6. Cos’altro puoi dirci che sarà disponibile nel tuo futuro? Ci sono progetti o magari fiere a cui sarai, insomma qualcosa che può già rivelare?

 

Al momento, non me la sento di partecipare a fiere o eventi particolari, anche perché mi devo informare su quelle del Vostro Paese. C’è ancora a Torino? Ora ho delle poesie e un noir da scrivere e l’esperienza dell’audiolibro è stata bella. Quindi, non so ancora cosa farò per prima…

1. Hi Tsuki, thank you so much for being here, I think it is important to talk to my readers about your projects and books. Are you ready? First, tell me, who is Tsuki? How would you define yourself?

Hi Hanna, thank you so much for being the first to interview me in Italy and want to host me on your site! Yes, I’m ready. So, I’m a person who likes to write and who has chosen a pen name to do it. I am moody, romantic, daughter of a time of rebirth. In fact, in Japan, with the new emperor Naruhito, the new era of rebirth started, called 令和 (Reiwa). This name means a period of beautiful harmony and it is harmony that I want to bring in what I write.

    2. From the fourth question I will go into the details of your books, but here I would like you to talk about your writing method: how do you usually write? Surrounded by absolute silence or with music as a background?

I like to write with background music. Sometimes I also enjoy myself. Sometimes I sing, if what I am writing is not too difficult.

    3. And, tell me, where do your best ideas come from? Have you ever dreamt of something so amazing that you have to write about it?

I have no better ideas, I have ideas. After, it is the reader who decides which ones are the best. Where do they come from? I don’t know. Sometimes it’s my Muse who suggests them to me. Others appear to me while I am writing. Yes, it happened that dreams like that would come out, or that I would have to write something down in the middle of the night, but I think that for a writer it’s something usual (laughs).

    4. ‘Killing For Lifetime’ is one of your novels in preorder in Amazon, in fact you can already find it in the online store, waiting for October 19, the date of its official launch. How was your story born?

This story was born from an unresolved issue between me and the Public Prosecutor, among the main characters in this thriller. Well, I liked the idea of making a easy, flowing book with “human cases” and some jokes. So, I wrote it during the Nanowrimo time.

 

 

5. Let’s talk about your audiobook. I am happy to announce that ‘Paul and Valentina’ is listenable on the Spotify platform, as well as available in other stores such as Amazon and Ibs. Was creating an audiobook exciting? Would you like to tell us about the voices that lent themselves to the story?

Creating an audiobook was a strange and exciting experience. I have to re-do it. Well, I asked professionals to do it, because when you publish your audiobook, it has to respect some technical parameters to be published. I used a platform to find the right person and I found Preston Rosales: a baritone and also an amazing person. He and his wife offered to do it and it was great for me.

The scene of my two protagonists going to the restaurant to get to know each other comes to life. For me, they also had fun and I am happy that they wanted to collaborate in this project.

This audiobook is free on Spotify and Deezer. On Amazon, iTunes Music, etc. each store has put its price. There is also the ebook of this little story, which has a price ranging from 0.49 to 0.99 euros. I wanted to put the ebook for free, but it was not possible. 

 

 

 

 

6. What else can you tell us that will be available in your future? Are there any projects or maybe fairs you will be at, in short something that can already reveal?

For now, I don’t feel like taking part in fairs or events, also because I have to know about those in your country. Is there still in Turin? For the next projects, I have some poems and a noir novel to write and the experience of my audiobook was beautiful. So, I still don’t know what I will do for first…
